Anything but a Square card

JustRite Friday Challenge #073 - "Anything But Square"  is to create a card that is anything as the title says but a square.  For this card I decided to use Spellbinders Labels 22 as the start to my card.  I placed the die so that it cut off the plate to give me the top design.  The card was first cut to a 4.25 x 5.5 size then cut with the Spellbinder. From there I used Authentique paper  "Carefree" Collection Care and the JustRite stamp Botanical Medallions and Banners.  Copic Markers E37, E34, YG 93, YG 95, YR 16 and YR 18 were used to color the botanical flowers which were cut by hand. The Mediallion was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and distressed with Antique Linen and edged with Vintage Photo.  Since I do not have the die I cut this also by hand  The Vintage Photo was also used on the edge of the card and flowers.  Pearl swirls and a simple bow helped finish the card.  A tag stamped from the same JustRite set was added to the bow.  Hope you enjoy.

Sweet Wishes

When I saw this stamp set on the Penny Black site I just had to have it.  It is Go Green, but it lends itself to many other themes.  I used it here as a Special Day card.  Those animals in that car are so cute.  I colored it very similar to the sample on the package. (see the Copic picture below for the colors).  The image was cut by hand and pop dotted on the background. The sentiment and balloon are from the Penny Black set Sweet Wishes.   I used Cover a Card stamp Distressed Dots with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink for the background.  The remaining papers are just brown, orange and desert sand.  The balloon was cut by hand then colored with a Copic Marker and  Glossy Accents was added for depth.  The corners were rounded to give a more finished look.   Hope you enjoy

Butterfly Kisses

Butterfly Kisses is a card I made for Fond Memories.  I wanted to try something different so I hand cut my stamped image after it was colored with Copic Markers.  (Y23, Y38, E 18, B21, B32, B45, YG95).  An embossed piece done with a Spellbinder folders was distressed with the new Squeezed Lemonade and sits inside the cut circle.  The sentiment (Penny Black "Gratitude" )was cut with an oval die and distressed with the Squeezed Lemonade.  The paper is from WeR Memory's "Anthologies" line.  Spellbinder labels one and Grand labels one along with a classic circle were used.  Hope you enjoy.

Another with sympathy

I decided I needed to put a post on, but did not have time over the weekend to get creative.  It was a weekend filled with family.  This card was made as a sample for the JustRite "With Sympathy" set that I used for the workshop.  The flower is still on the card, but I used Momento brown and stamped it off before putting on the Neenah solar white paper.  The sentiment from the same set is stamped in Momento Black.  This was cut with a JustRite special die from Spellbinder and mounted on a Spellbinder Oval.  The paper is from Authentique an the ribbon was white and colored with Antique Linen.  Just wanted to share so Hope you Enjoy.

Butterflies and Flowers

JustRite Friday Color Challenge #071 - "Perfect Pastels"

JustRite is hosting a color challenge this week.  Not having the colors I needed in designer papers I decided to use Copic Markers and the  JustRite "With sympathy" set to create this card.  The card began with a 5 x 7 base that was airbrushed with Copic YR 31.  On this was mounted the background that was embossed with the new Spellbinder M-Bossabilities "Imperial" folder. This was airbrushed with both the YR31 and YR65.  Pearl Gems were added to this base.  The flower was stamped on a Spellbinder Classic Oval and colored with Copic Markers  YR31 (Lt Reddish Yellow) and RV14 (Begonia Pink) as the tip color.  I did mask off a portion of the stamp to fit the oval.  These were blended which gave a little different color to the flower.  YG 61and YG63 were used on the leaves.   This was framed with the new Spellbinder "Floral Oval" using Neenah Solar White.  Small pearl gems were added to the frame.   A Spellbinder ribbon tag was cut and stamped with a sentiment from the JustRite Set and airbrushed with the YR31.  Butterflies were cut with a Memory Box die and colored using the three challenge colors.  When I started this was a challenge, but with white paper, an embossing folder, the right stamp, a few pearl gems  and some dies it became a card.  Hope you enjoy.

A Fabulous Birthday

This card started with the new paper I purchased from WeR Memory Keepers "Anthologie".  The colors are so pretty and I could not wait to create with them.   Joan's Garden is having a challenge in which you create a pretty card with flowers you make.  The flowers on this card began with a Spellbinder Scalloped Circle.  I used four of the dies and two DP papers.  A little crunching and a brad/pearl and the flower was done.  Well maybe alot of crunching was needed on both flowers as the paper is a little stiff.  This is a technique that I used a couple of years ago and have not done since.  A sentiment from the Penny Black set "Sweet Wishes" was stamped on an oval cut with a Spellbinder "Floral Oval".  A string of pearl gems frames the sentiment.  This paper is popped up on the card base.  Pearl gems also highlight two of the corners.  Several layers of the DP used in the frame and flowers make up the base of the card.  A fun and really a rather simple card to make.  Hope you enjoy

a day to celebrate

Wanting to make something a little different I looked at Joan"s Garden Challenge for this week and here it is.  The challenge is to use flowers and make a pretty card. I hope you can see the many flowers in the design of the card.   I started with Bo Bunny "Back to Basics"  paper and a die from Memory Box "Twirling Vine Frame (cut in white). Very small pearls were added on what appears to be small flowers on the frame.    The card itself is a 5 x 7 in size.  The flowers are from the same paper using a Spellbinder Die "bitty blossoms".  The flowers were tipped with a Copic Marker R85.  The sentiment from Penny Black "Gratitude" was stamped on another Bo Bunny "Back to Basics" paper and edged with the Distress marker Worn Lipstick.  The paper was cut with a Spellbinder oval and placed on top of a Spellbinder "Floral" oval cut from white.  Three pearls were added to finish off the oval.  A butterfly was cut with a Memory Box die from the DP and distressed with Worn Lipstick Distress Stain .  The center of the butterfly was distressed with an distress marker.  This was placed on a silk bow and a pearl pin added.  Close ups can be seen of both the butterfly and the flowers (taken from a top view).  This was fun to make.  Hope you enjoy.

All My Love

This was a sample card I made for the Fond Memories Spring workshop to highlight the stamp set I used.  This is from the JustRite "With Sympathy" set.  The image is colored with Copic Markers and mounted on a purple frame cut with the new Spellbinder 'Floral Oval" Die.  A Spellbinder ribbon tag was used for the sentiment which was distressed with Dusty Concord.  A really simple card to make.  Fun too.  Hope you enjoy.

Sweet and Sassy

JustRite Friday Challenge #070 -- "Pretty Papers".

This JustRite Stampers challenge is to create your own background paper.  Using the JustRite Topsy Turvy Cakes set a background was created of flowers.  Four small flowers from the set were repeated on a piece of Neenah solar white paper.  The flowers and leaves were colored with Copic Markers-RV00, YG03, Y13 and Y08.  The paper was then distressed with Antique Linen.  A green bow was added with a pearl pin.  A button holds the sentiment tag stamped from the same JustRite set and cut with a Spellbinder Floral Oval.  Distress ink was used on the tag as well. This was mounted on a card base that was distressed with Peeled Paint for a narrow green border.  A simple card.  Hope you Enjoy.
