Celebrate: It's your Birthday

 Hero Arts "It's our Anniversary stamp and cut". was used for this card.  The background folder is an old one from my stash.  The celebrate was made using half inch pieces of paper pieced and glued on card stock then cut.  Hope you enjoy!

Sending snowflake wishes

Another birthday card

Want a fast and simple card well this is it.  Jennifer McGuire is the inspiration from a bonus on the Online Card class "Stenciled".  My take on the card was to distress the stencil using Broken China and Peeled paint.  The stencil is from Hero Arts "Lg Lotus" which was put at an angle.  The sentiment was stamped using the distressed image as a guide using Hero Arts "Enjoy Today".    The stamped image was put on the card stock and trimmed, then edged with scraps and mounted on the card base.  Quick and simple.  Hope you enjoy.

Stamps and Stencils

This card turned out so much different than what the starting idea was.  The plan was to make a card with the four different pieces stamped.  This is a 6 x6 card.  A white cardstock was cut to 5.5 and then cut into two pieces.   Each of those pieces was then cut into two uneven pieces.  The Hero Arts "Dauber Bunch" was used to stamp the images.  The "Thanks a Bunch" sentiment was stamped with Archival black and then clear heat embossed.  Hero Arts inks were used for the stamped images.  (Hero Hues "latte", Hero Shadow "pool" and "green hills".  The next step was to distress the edge with Antique Linen.  This still needed something so the Memory Box stencil " Texture rings and puddles" was stamped with the Antique Linen  to add a background effect.  The stamped images were then mounted onto a dark blue that was cut a 1/4 inch larger than the stamped piece.  The final step was to mount all of the card pieces onto a base of green 6x6 paper.  This was a fun card to make.  Hope you enjoy.

Season's Greetings

Wow the holiday is coming a little to fast and I do not have all of my cards done.  I am mass producing cards for my son at the moment.  This was a card I made as a sample for him and he turned it down.  May do some mass producing of this for myself as it is super simple.  The sentiment is heat embossed with a clear powder after stamping in black.  Size is 5 x 6.5    Hope you enjoy.

Elegant Pine

This card was made using the Hero Arts Stencil "Elegant Pine" and Golden Gel Mediums "Light Molding Paste".  I placed some of the medium into a small cup and added Distress Ink Peeled Paint reinker to the paste.  After this was mixed I taped the stencil onto my paper and spread the medium.  It is like spreading butter smooth, remove the excess and pull off the stencil.  I then added Distress dry glitter  "clear rock candy" and let it dry.  Little Yellow Bicycle  was used for the framing and was cut using a Grand Oval from Spellbinders.  The card was then mounted on red by Bazzill.  A Sentiment from DRS designs was stamped in black and cut with a Spellbinder label and mounted.  Two large pearls finish off the card.  This card is very large being almost 6 x 8.  Hope you enjoy.

tis the Season

A cute little snowman by Hero Arts along with its open Sizzix die  "Snowman pair".  The greeting is also from Hero Arts "Greetings for the Holiday.  The snowman was stamped with Memento Black and colored with Copic markers (YR04, B0000, R46, R20).  The folder is a Sizzix "Dots" that was embossed on paper longer than the folder so it could be trimmed to leave a spot to stamp the greeting.  The snowman is popped, the white mounted on a red  and a simple 4.25 x 5.5 card is made.  Hope you enjoy.

Warm winter wishes

"Warm winter wishes" was inspired by a card designed by Kristina Werner for the Online Holiday Card class.  The stamp used is Hero Winter Trees stamped with Ranger archival black.  The stamped image was then distressed on the bottom right with Ranger Iced Spruce distress ink.  Peacock feathers was added to the bottom left and Black Soot to the top left.  The snowflakes are from the Penny Black set "A bright tomorrow" and were heat embossed in white.  The dear was cut with a Sizzix die and distressed with Tea Dye Ink.  My sentiment was on a clear block and I do not remember the company, but think it is from a set by Jillian Vance.  The paper used is from Bazzill and cut to 4.25 x 5.5.  Hope you enjoy.

Joy to all

Christmas cards are one of my fun things to make so you will see many in the next few months.  Joy to All is a sentiment from Hero Arts stamped on a brick background from Penny Black.  The Lantern stamp is from Prickley Pear.  The inspiration for this card came from Prickley Pear and was used for my July Christmas in summer workshop at Fond Memories.  The edges of both the spellbinder label and the card base were distressed with Black Soot.  I then used Pumice stone to distress the two and it brought it some of the Black Soot to achieve the effect you see.  Two shades of Copic green were used for the pine.  Ranger enamel was used for the snow and then glitter was added.  The base was mounted on red and a red ribbon added to finish the card.  Hope you Enjoy.

Winter Scene

I made this for the July Christmas in Summer card class that I have been teaching at Fond Memories.  Winter Scene is a stamp by Hero Arts.  The Sentiment is from JustRite.  The ink used was Memento Rich Cocoa and Ranger Archival black.  This triple layered card is a 5 x 7 but could be made smaller.  The paper are cut with each 1/2 inch smaller than the layer it sits on for this card.  All of the cream colored were layered and stamped at one time.  The Bazzill green was used as a base.  The card was assembled by matching up the image.  It looks complicated, but is rather simple.  This is a You Tube video on how to do this technique:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmculp_tz74.  Hope you enjoy.  (Sorry about the picture quality)

Reverse Flowers and Leaves

This card was made using a technique that I learned at the INKd Imagine crafts workshop at CHA.

Supplies used:  Hero Arts stamps:  Reversed Flowers and Leaves, Blooming Meadow,
                         JustRite  Sentiment and Spellbinder Tag
Tsukineko Supplies:  Memento:  1. Pistachio, 2.  Zeal, 3. Nautical Blue, 4. Elderberry
Imagine Craft supplies:  Fireworks! Bahama Blue

The technique we used was to put the ink directly on the background stamp. They suggested to work from the lighter to darker.  Use inks 1, 2 and 3 in that order. Place the ink random on the stamp. Each card you create using this technique will give you a different effect.  Follow this with the Fireworks spray so that it helps the inks blend.  The next step is to stamp on white card stock.  I used Neenah Solar White to create this project.  When dry using the Blooming Meadow stamp ink it with the Elderberry and then
stamp on top of the background.  The rest is to create your card.  This card was created as a wedding card, but could be a sympathy or birthday.

This card is made using a Hero Arts "Art of the Card" stamp set Just Because.  It was stamped on Neenah solar white and colored with Copic markers B45 (butterfly) and YR 23 (background), YR 24 (border).  Since I do not have the Edge Frame die  I cut it by hand.  The card base is Authentique "Devoted" which is mounted on  Authentique "Faithful".  The back side of the Faithful was cut in a one inch strip that the stamped image was mounted on. Distress Ink " Old Paper " was used on the edges.  Three pearls were colored with the YR 24 to help finish off the card.  It is a simple card and I hope you enjoy.

Antique Flowers and Butterflies

Antique Flowers and Butterflies is a stamp and die set from Hero Arts and Sizzix.  I have been just waiting to use these.  My mojo has been on vacation, but I decided to work this into the Mojo 227 challenge for this week.  I also put it in the Ribbon Carousel challenge with market street challenge RRC39 where you need to use ribbon or twine or anything on a spool.  This is a good set if you have problems with shading as you could get by using only one color on the flower.  I used Copic R27, but did do some highlight with R29.  The center of the Flower is YR02.  The leaf color is YG 95 while the butterfly has R20 and E31 for colors.  The paper is new from Authentique "Party" and "Enjoyment".  Black was used for the ribbon and a small solid on the card to finish it off.  It really is rather simple.  Don't you think this would make a good sympathy or birthday card?   Hope you enjoy.

Wish Big

Wish big is a clear stamp set by Hero Arts.  This was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic Markers.  Holes for the ribbon were punched so it came around the stamped image as if it were really holding the balloons.  Very simple.  This was all mounted on plain card stock in shades of purple and orange. (edit:  the shades of Copics are green, blue, purple, orange and yellow)   Hope you enjoy.

A simple card

This is what I call a simple, but not clean card.  It is on the flat side as nothing has been pop dotted.  The card was stamped with Hero Arts "border messages" on white paper.  This was distressed with Antique Linen and mounted on a Bazzill blue.  The main card is a paper by Bazzill that you can sand.  This was mounted on the blue.  In a few minutes a very simple card.  I have a purpose for this being simple.  I need to make several in the next few days.  This being in a tan is more masculine.  I plan to make a couple in shades of green to be more feminine.  Hope you enjoy.

I Love You

A clean and simple card designed using a card sketch by Kristina Werner for the Clean and Simple On-Line card class.  The card began with a 5 x5 light blue cardstock.  A post it note was used to mask the center.  This was stamped using the  Impression Obsession "Flourishes" and Distress Ink "iced spruce".  Three hearts were cut with a Spellbinder heart die (smallest) and using a white Gelly Roll pen mock stiching was added.  The  mock effect was also placed around the solid square.  The sentiment was stamped from a Mimi Penny Black set and heat embossed using Hero Arts embossing powder. This was all mounted on a white 5.25 square to make a simple to complete card. Hope you enjoy.
