Creative Chemistry Day 3 Layered Collage

Have to say this is not a favorite final product, but I did learn technique from it.  My tag was covered in Collage Medium-Matte.  To this I added a printed tissue paper and added more Collage Medium.  The next step was to add Ephemera and more Collage Medium.  After this had dried I added Distress Crayons to give color.

Creative Chemistry Day 2 Rub Resist

Day Two of Creative Chemistry 103 had a Rub Resist using Remnant Rubs.  For this tag I used Remnant Rubs-Life quotes and then added Distress Stains:  Forest Moss, Wild Honey and Fire Brick.  This was then spritzed with water.  I decided to add a little touch and stamped one of the new Mini-Crazy dogs with Archival Ink.  This little dog reminds me of a four legged friend in my household (Minnie).  Am so having fun with Creative Chemistry 103 and all of the techniques that Tim Holtz has presented.  Hope you ejoy

Distress Crayon Resist

This tag was made for Day 4 of the OCC Creative Chemistry 103.  It is a Distress Crayon resist.  Using the Picket Fence and a Tim Holtz Mini Stencil the crayon was rubbed by hand onto a tag.  This was allowed to dry (it takes a long time) before color was added.  Using Distress Inks color was applied to the tag and rubbed off the stenciled area with a baby wipe.  Love the look this gives and a new use for my Distress Crayons.  Hope you enjoy.

Day 2 Paint Lifting Technique

This tag was made for the Online Card Class Creative Chemistry 103 Day 2.  It is a paint lifting technique.  The card was covered with fossilized amber and this was allowed to dry.   Using several other color with Tim Holtz mini-stencil the paint lifting took place.  One color would be placed down and a stencil over it.  Using a baby wipe the paint was lifted off.  When done black soot was used to speckle the tag.  A fun technique.  Hope you enjoy

Distress Tag-Highlighted

This tag was made as a part of the Online Card Class-Chemistry 103.  Normally stamping on a darker surface distress inks will be more muted.  This was first stamped with Distress White Picket Fence,  The image was again stamped over the white.  Colors used were:  Mermaid Lagoon, Peeled Paint and Carved Pumpkin,  I did add a little Antique Linen to the edges of the tag.  Hope you enjoy.

This is a double slider card.  I searched Pinterest for a double slider and was able to find the directions.  To make the slider a piece of plastic bag is used.  The card begin with a 6 inch x 12 inch paper that is scored at 3 3/4, 7 3/4 and 11 /3/4.  The card front 4 x 6 was stamped with an Altnew stamp set using Altnew Red Cosmos ink.  A Sassy Sweet sentiment was used on the inside.  The gold tape on the edge was created with score tape and gold heat emboss.  An idea I saw on the Heat Wave Online Card Class/   Hope you enjoy.

Flower Gala

This card was inspired by Jennifer McGuire in the Online Card Class "Clear and Sheer".  The top layer of the card is vellum which has been colored with red, yellow, orange, green and blue inks that are rubbed on and then heat set. (The picture was taken on a black mat)  The flower is from Penny Black "Flower gala" and white embossed.  The sentiment strip is cut with an Avery Elle die and the sentiment stamped in Versafine Black.  Pearl gems by Kaiser were added to finish off the front.  The vellum was a 4.25 by 8.5 piece scored at 5.5 creating a top fold card.  The 3 inch flap left was sandwiched between two pieces of white card stock to finish off the card.  Hope you enjoy.

Happy Mother's Day

I made this card following an example on the new Online Card Class "Clear and Sheer".  It highlights how to use vellum.  My background was water colored and then a leaf die from my stash was used to cut out the image.  The die cut image was then adhered to the card base.  I stamped the sentiment on heavy vellum with Versafine black, then clear embossed and attached it on the back of the card panel.  Hope you enjoy.

Poppy Gems

This is one of the cards I created for the Fond Memories Spring Workshop.  Have to say Penny Black is one of my favorite stamps companies so this was a fun card to create.

Stamps:  Penny Black Poppy Gems
Sentiment stamp:  JustRite “Sweet Flowers & Vines”
Paper:  Cardbase:  Orange “Tangy”  5.5. x 8.5 (folded for 4.25 x 5.5. card)
             Watercolor 4.25 x 5.5,    scrap 2 x3,   watercolor or other white .5 x 2.5
Versafine Black to stamp Poppy and Sentiment
            Distress Inks to paint flower
Flowers:  Fired brick, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, Walnut Stain
                        Leaves:  Bundled sage, Peeled Paint
                        Background:  Tumbled Glass
            Distress Glitter-Brushed Corduroy
            Paint Brush
            Hole punch
            Adhesive such as Matte Medium

Stamp the Poppy Stamp on Watercolor paper with Black Versafine.  With the scrap watercolor paper stamp the large flower.  Let dry for a few minutes

Paint the flowers using the Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge and Wild Honey.  Walnut Stain is used for the flower center.
HINT:  When doing watercolor you can add water to an area and then add your color.
HINT:  When coloring paint one area and then go to another so not working next to a wet area.
HINT:  Use two jars of water-one for clean and one for dirty so you are not mixing colors,

Cut the flower painted on the scrap by hand and using 3M dimension tape place over the same flower on the card.
Paint the leaves using the Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint.  Add the Walnut Stain to the flower center.  Add Matte Medium to the center followed by the Distress Glitter

Paint the background area using the Tumbled Glass.  If you wet an area and follow with the distress ink you can move the color around.

Wrap the twine around the watercolor paper and tie with a knot.  Do not trim yet. Stamp the sentiment, punch a whole and add to the twine before tying a bow.   Adhere to the watercolor image to the cardbase.
