Thinking of you

What a cute stamp--"Delightful Dogs #3" from Inky Antics.  A simple card using Spellbinders labels 12 and some Copics in shades of brown, green and a gold.  The paper is from BasicGrey "Picadilly" 6x6 pad. I did add a little Antique Linen distress ink too.  The card is a 4.25 x 5.5 in size with the printed paper cut t 2.5 inches and a strip of the frame paper creating a finished look.  Just wanting to share this delightful little guy as it rains/ sleets/ snows here in Minnesota.  Hope you enjoy

Thanks

This card is made using a Hero Arts "Art of the Card" stamp set Just Because.  It was stamped on Neenah solar white and colored with Copic markers B45 (butterfly) and YR 23 (background), YR 24 (border).  Since I do not have the Edge Frame die  I cut it by hand.  The card base is Authentique "Devoted" which is mounted on  Authentique "Faithful".  The back side of the Faithful was cut in a one inch strip that the stamped image was mounted on. Distress Ink " Old Paper " was used on the edges.  Three pearls were colored with the YR 24 to help finish off the card.  It is a simple card and I hope you enjoy.

Mimi's many loves

Mimi's many loves is a  "T for Transparent" set by Penny Black.  I used part of this set in an earlier post.  Mimi is soooo cute.  The hearts are perfect rain drops especially on a day in Minnesota that is going from rain to snow.   I wanted to paper piece her umbrella and used this cute paper by Jillibean "Apple Cheddar Soup".  The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers.  It was die cut with a new Spellbinder JustRite Custom Die "Nested Oval Medallion labels".  A little Antique Linen distress ink was used on the image.  This was mounted on an oval cut using the coordinating paper and a Spellbinder oval.  This was then mounted on the same paper as the umbrella.  A sentiment was stamped from the set and cut with a Spellbinder tag.  Pearl gems from the stash were used to finish off the card.  Kind of simple and hope you enjoy.

With Sympathy

JustRite has created a new clear stamp set "With Sympathy" that was used for this card.  The  fun part is that I made this for their sketch challenge #066.   All of the paper for the card is from the Authentique "Free Bird" 6 x 6 line which my LSS "Fond Memories" just added.  I did hand cut the edge of the bottom piece to give it a little different effect.  The sentiment was stamped then cut with a Spellbinder circle and distressed with Antique Linen.  Three small pearls were added and then it was mounted on a green cut with Spellbinder Lacey Circles, which was mounted on a burgundy colored paper also cut with the Lacey Circles.  Spellbinder Labels 16 was used to cut two frames from different papers where four pearls helped finish the framing..  A burgundy ribbon and bow with a pearl brad helped finish off the card.  The finished size is 4.25 x 5.5.  A fun card to make and as I look at it can be used for a sympathy card or perhaps you have someone that is a little under the weather or has hard times or needs a pick me upper.  Hope you enjoy

Antique Flowers and Butterflies

Antique Flowers and Butterflies is a stamp and die set from Hero Arts and Sizzix.  I have been just waiting to use these.  My mojo has been on vacation, but I decided to work this into the Mojo 227 challenge for this week.  I also put it in the Ribbon Carousel challenge with market street challenge RRC39 where you need to use ribbon or twine or anything on a spool.  This is a good set if you have problems with shading as you could get by using only one color on the flower.  I used Copic R27, but did do some highlight with R29.  The center of the Flower is YR02.  The leaf color is YG 95 while the butterfly has R20 and E31 for colors.  The paper is new from Authentique "Party" and "Enjoyment".  Black was used for the ribbon and a small solid on the card to finish it off.  It really is rather simple.  Don't you think this would make a good sympathy or birthday card?   Hope you enjoy.

Stamp Storage Method

Ok I do not if you are like me but do you have LOTS of clear or cling stamps and the method of storage just isn't working.  Well I like to browse Splitcoast Stampers forum for ideas.  This was posted and it looked like a workable method to store those clear or clings.  .  I am putting the link (source is mommamikki)  to the video that shows how to do this project.  I am not taking any credit for this, just  sharing what another creative person has passed on to us.

I am lucky that last summer I purchased the page protectors.  I use these for my classroom presentations and  have some I just did not need.   I have lots of big 3 ring binders that can be re-purposed as well.  This turns out to be one of those lucky to make projects for me--I already have what I need.

I put black lines on this so you could see that this page will hold one larger and two smaller stamps.  It is another way to use your sewing machine.  Just sew on the lines. You are creating a page that will have two sides.   I used a ruler to be sure they were straight.  Of course the top is already open.  You will need to use an Exacto knife to carefully cut a slit on both sides for the bottom to have an opening.  Do not cut through the paper.  Cut each side separately.  The video does a nice job of showing what to do and suggestions for organization--which we all know is an individual thing.

I sat this up so the flash would not glare so it has a little sag to it.  For the purpose of the picture I put three different Penny Black sets in the pockets.  The top two are slap sticks and may want to pocket them differently.  I am going to make a few more of these, get my stamps out of drawers and a try a better organization.
Hope this gives others some ideas for storage too.  It really is rather simple, just will take some time.  Have fun organizing.
