Finished Album

The cover is finished and pages added to the Holiday Album.  Pictured below are some of the pages put into this book.

As posted previously:  The base is a Snap 6x8 with a black binder.  The die is from Memory Box and was cut in three colors of mirror paper: red, green and gold.  A Spellbinders oval was used to make the frame.  The first cut was in paper from Simple Stories DIY Christmas.  The candles were glued onto the actual cover of the album but framed in the red mirror paper.  The sentiment is Tim Holtz "Handwritten Holidays 2" was embossed in gold.  There are several other pages that go in this album but they are similar to the ones pictured.  Hope you enjoy as this was fun to make.

Album work in progress

Not a card this time (but thinking this could be one in the future), but the cover to a Christmas Album.  Just a note to say the bow is not done in this picture as it does look a little unfinished.  The base is a Snap 6x8 with a black binder. A start now just to do the inside.  Not sure if this ribbon is  staying yet or not.  Will keep you updated as I add more to the book.  Hope you enjoy

Christmas greetings

A quick and simple post for another holiday card idea.  This is a  5.5 square card with two smaller squares.  The edges of the two smaller squares were rubbed on a Versa Mark embossing pad and gold powder added, then heat set.  The greeting was from one of many in the holiday stamp stash.  After the card was put together a purchased poinsettia was added to finish off the card.  Hope you enjoy

Merry Christmas

Something about this card reminds me of a picture that would hang on a wall.  The dies used for this card are from Taylored Expressions.  The blue, green and white paper are Bazzil.  The  blue was mounted on a silver then to the white card base.  The sentiment can be from any set that you like
and it was stamped in black.  A fairly quick card to make.  I did use my Vagabond to cut the dies for this card.  Hope you enjoy.

Edit:  Taylored Expression dies:  Evergreen  and  Seasonal trees

Snowy Day

This is totally a card that I copied from the Lawn Fawn site.  The stamp set is the new Snowy Day by Lawn Fawn.  I did not use the dies that go with so did some fussy cut on the trees and rabbits.  I stamped five trees on white card stock in two shades of green.  A Piece of Vellum (cut 1/4 inch smaller than card base) was placed over that with Merry and Bright gold heat embossed and a few snowflakes.  Five more trees were cut for the front.  A snowbank was added with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside dies.  The snow bank was cut 1/4 inch shorter than the Vellum and about 1 1/2 inch tall.  The rabbits were colored using Copic markers and pop dotted onto the card along with a couple of the trees.  This was a fun card to copy and one I plan to make more of.   Hope you enjoy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

The Mojo Monday Challenge 359 is what I used for the inspiration on this card.  The sketch is posted below.  The paper used on this card is from Doodlebug.  These pieces are all from the Sugar Shoppe collection.  The "happy" was cut using a Wplus9 die and Stickles was used to make it sparkle.  The banner was stamped with a Jillian Vance Designs "Basically Birthday" word.  The ink used was Versafine and then clear embossed. The circle was cut using the new Spellbiner pierced circles.  The flower is from the stash bucket and Stickles was added.  The flower was placed on top of twine.  A fun card to make.  Hope you enjoy.

Your Day

Spellbinders has released a Celebra'tions line and this stamp "Your Day" has this cute little elephant and a turtle on it.  I needed a card for a special "5" year old and purchased this stamp for that purpose.  This is not the card I made her, but one cased from the packaging.  The paper and gems are from Doodlebug .  The image was colored with Copic markers (C3, C0, C5, YG03, YR31, B41, 97, V22) and glossy accents was added to the eye.  Spellbinders pierced rectangle dies were used to cut this card.   A twine bow finishes off the card.  Hope you enjoy.

The Little Things

Sharing a pretty simple card.  I found inspiration for this on the internet and changed it up some to make it my own.  I started by by stamping my image on a paper cut4 x 5.25 using the Taylored Expressions "The little Things". The next step was to cut an oval using masking paper to fit over the stamped image.  Using Antique Linen distress ink the paper was distressed and the mask removed so the image could be colored.  The sentiment was added next and the card was then mounted on the white card base to form an A2 card.    Simple.  Hope you enjoy

Non-Traditional Christmas in July

JustRite is hosting a non-traditional Christmas card challenge  (here) and this is my take on it. Roses are not what we think of as being a Christmas flower and dark backgrounds are rare.

The card base is white folded size 4.75 x 6.  Bazzill red was cut to 4.5 x 5.75 to form the base for the JustRite " Holly Garlands Background".  JudiKins "Rustique Weathered Iron" was to used to heat emboss the background which was then distressed with "Peeled Paint".  JustRite "Rose Bouquets Vintage Labels" was stamped on white and colored with Copic markers (YG93, YG 95, R 27, R29) and then cut with a Spellbinder oval die with a final touch of distress ink on the edge.  The sentiment believe is from the same stamp set as the roses, masked to remove the words "in miracles" then cut cut and distressed with the peeled paint.  A silk ribbon from the stash was tied with all cut outs being popped.

Winter Wonderland

This very simple card to make uses Taylored Expressions "Winter Wonderland".  I found the idea on the internet for the card.  The card is made with watercolor paper.  The first step is to ink  a stamping block with Faded Jeans and mist with water then stamp.  Each card you make will have a little different look.  A snowflake was stamped with faded jeans over the watercolor, while another was stamped on white with the same ink and cut out with the coordinating die.  The cut out snowflake was popped and placed on top of the image on the card base.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine then clear heat embossed.  Hope you enjoy

Baptism

I needed a Baptism card for a special little boy and this is what I decided on.  The card base is Bazzill blue with a layer of Bazzill white.  The blue with tiny words "Baptism" is from Scrapbook Customs and cut with a Spellbinder die.  The cross was cut in two sizes again with a Spellbinder die.  The gems are from Hero Arts and the Sentiment is from a set by JustRite.  Hope you enjoy

Snowy NIght

This is another card from the May Christmas in summer class that I did at Fond Memories.  I found good inspiration on the internet to put this card together.  The Card is on a white base 4.25 x 5.5 and  used Bazzill white.  The Green is Bazzill Rainforest cut to 3.5x 5 and a plain white was cut to 3.25 x 4.75.  Hero Arts Snowy Night was stamped with Hero Shadow Field Green on the plain white.  IO stamp Merry and Bright was stamped in Versafine Black and then clear embossed.  A very simple card to make.  Hope you enjoy

A day to Celebrate

The Mojo Monday 348 challenge is a sketch with rounded corners.  This is my take on the challenge this week.  Simple Stories paper "The Story of Us" was used for the pattern and tag.  The black card base and the green strip are both Bazzil along with the leaf cut.  The sentiment is from Penny Black. The flower is a Spellbinder Aster created with white card stock.  The yellow center has been enhanced with glossy accents for dimension.  A tutorial on how to make this flower can be found HERE.  A fun sketch that I hope you enjoy.

3.  Place the stamped image into the protective tent so that 2.5 inch is exposed and the 1.5 portion covered.   Tilting this so the open edge is to the bottom apply the clear embossing powder.  Tap this to remove the excess powder and slide out of the paper tent
4.  Turn the card so the white is on the bottom.  Apply the black embossing powder to the rest of the card.  Heat set the embossing powder

Happy Birthday

Have to say no creating here this past two weeks.  Since my last post have been off to New York and Washington DC.  This card was made as a sample for the Fond Memories spring workshop the first part of April.   I used a stamp set Taylored Expressions for the cute little chicks that created a border. "County boy Owen" by Paper Nest Dolls is the main image for the card.  Copic Markers were used to color the stamped images.  Antique Linen dress ink was used to distress the background.  The sentiment was cut with a die that is the stem of a flower.  Hope you enjoy
