Unity Stamps is hosting a sketch challenge using their Kit of the Month Stamps. I just received the July 2011 " ...better together " set so here is the first card I made using the new set.
The paper is new from Cosmo Cricket "Odds and Ends" scraps. I used Spellbinder ovals to cut out my stamped set and distressed the bottom layer with Antique Linen. Memento Tuxedo Black was used to stamp the image. I cut the bike and pop dotted it. I turned the sketch to the side and added a ribbon. Hope you enjoy.
One of the most rewarding things is to share with others the works you have done.

Christmas in July
Outlines Rubber Stamp Company is holding a Christmas in July challenge. With the encouragement of a good friend (thank you Lynn) I am entering it this week. Never to early to get your Christmas cards started. I colored my image using a copic marker and then using a towel and blender ink added a little texture. The stars were colored in gold and stickles added.

School is Cool
Oh I had some fun today. I decided to make a little 3 x 4 notebook that can be used as a gift for a student or teacher. At CHA we took two classes that used the Bind-it-all and of course when they offered to sell them at a great price I just had to get one. Learning to use it may take some time. Made some mistakes with binding this project but it still turned out. The stamp is a new one from Unity Stamps "School is Cool" and colored yellow with a Copic marker. The paper is from Imaginisce "Teacher's Pet-When's recess?". The ribbon was white that I colored using green, blue and red copic markers. So many ways that this stamp and paper can be used. This is just a simple one. Hope you enjoy.

Back From CHA
This picture of the Convention Center in Rosemont Ill. was taken from our hotel room. We are back from CHA and those that shop at Fond Memories have a lot of new things coming your way. The papers, stamps and other products will be arriving in a few weeks. Of course Kathy has the new Spellbinders coming. Doreen, Judy and I were looking for ideas for the Sept. 24 workshop and we found many stamp and paper companies that will be represented. Lots of fun stuff. Now time to start playing again.
This picture was taken as you walk into the conference hall. This was so much fun. The next pictures were taken while on the floor just to give you a little idea of what it was like. Did not think about taking these until I was walking out. One very large store for shopping. Of course not open to the public. Hope you enjoy

CHA off we go
Well I was going to try and put a post on today, but am getting ready to leave for Chicago early in the morning. Doreen, Kathy, Judy and I are headed to the CHA Hobby and Trade Show. I went last year with the Fond Memories team and it was a blast. Think the first place want to go is Spellbinders to see what else is available. Have a long list of places to visit. Doreen, Judy and I are signed up for a few classes and of course the make n takes. We should come home with a ton of ideas and products on order. Many of course will be show cased at the Fond Memories fall workshop in Sept. If I can figure out how to do it I may try and share some pictures with everyone while I am gone of a project that we make at CHA. Otherwise I hope to try and post a new card the end of the week. Till then...

Embossing Technique
This card was designed using an embossing technique by Jennifer McGuire in the Online Card Camp I am participating in. She used the embossing pad and put it to the paper. The second part was to put the embossing powder over this. The third step she showed was to use the embossing pad on the stamp itself and then to put this on the powder--pressing very hard. What happens is you lift the powder off and have the stamped image which you then apply the heat gun to. The next step is to use a color marker and Copics are not recommended. I had to use two Copic markers since this is all I have right now, but as I was working I applied heat. I colored in where the embossing powder had been removed. (Copic markers will melt the embossed image). I cut the flower out and added Bronze Pearl Pen to the center. This was popped over the leaves cut with a Spellbinder Foliage die.
I also used colors that were in the Friday release of additional color combinations. This paper from Echo Parks "Summer Days" 6 x6 worked perfect for the color combination. Hope you enjoy.

Thank You
This card was created for the On-line Summer Card Camp. I had the perfect paper for the color selection (yellow, orange, red, and two shades of green) and just could not decide how to make a card from it. I just did not have the right stamp for this card so decided to make a simple Thank You card. My mind is still working on something a little more detailed. I had Cosmo Cricket paper in a 6 x 6 pad that had the perfect color combo as you can see from the color sample to the right. A Spellbinder labels 6 was used for the Thank You ( a stamp from CTMH). The solid red is a Bazzill and I traced around the die used to stamp the Thank You. The ribbon is from May Arts and I made it a three bow. The little button in the center is the tomato from the paper with glossy accents on it. You can see a close up below. Very simple. Hope you enjoy.
